Another season drew to a close this weekend with the club celebrating with an invitation match of former players of Farnham Royal CC and Phoenix Football Club. A wonderful day was had by all, helped by a lovely curry evening and plenty of beers. The cricketing highlights were:
Batting from Amir Abbassi, Charlie Jackson, Mick Jenkins
Bowling from the evergreen Peter Abel, Anil Sharma, Indy Bopari
The match was won with an unanticipated partnership between Ian Mather and Liam McGuinness knocking off the runs required. But the main cause for celebration was just getting so many old friends together to share memories.
Hopefully there will be even more interest in a re-run on 2022.
